Lee Sung-kyung appeared in the popular drama “Dr. Romantic” as cardiac surgeon Cha Eun-jae. As she developed affection for the patients after playing a true doctor through the series, Lee Sung-kyung has donated many times without anyone knowing.
As Cha Eun-jae became a doctor in charge of a trauma center in “Dr. Romantic,” Lee Sung-kyung also became more aware of the patients in this field than anyone else and wanted to contribute to the advancement of critical trauma care in Korea. Therefore, she donated 100 million won to Dankook University Hospital’s Trauma Center. It is also known that the actress has consistently participated in donation campaigns to support the recovery of victims from large and small disasters such as COVID-19, wildfires, and floods.
Recently, Lee Sung-kyung made headlines as she 50 million won to the Comprehensive Support Center For the Elderly Living Alone. The donation will be used to provide support for self-reliance support programs to protect vulnerable elderly people who struggle in their daily lives.
Lee Sung-kyung confessed, “I wanted to convey my respect and love to people who have lived their lives with great values. I hope my little help will make the elderly who are living alone feel less lonely. Since I’ve received huge love from many people around the world in 2023, I wanted to share them to wrap up the year”, expressing her sincere desire to repay and share the love she received from fans through various activities.
