On February 26, a fan of Lee Sun Kyun shared a photo on Instagram taken inside a movie theater. The caption read, “Lee Sun Kyun is mentioned in the ending credits of director Jang Hang Jun’s film The King’s Warden.” The image showed the phrase, “The production team would like to extend special thanks to the following,” followed by the name “Lee Sun Kyun.”

However, there has been no official confirmation regarding whether the name specifically refers to the late actor. Despite this, the post quickly spread across online communities, leading some netizens to speculate that director Jang Hang Jun may have included the name as a tribute to his close friend. Their long-standing friendship has since come back into the spotlight.

Jang Hang Jun and Lee Sun Kyun were widely known as one of the entertainment industry’s closest friendships. The two traveled together on the tvN variety program Very Private Southeast Asia and showcased their camaraderie. Lee Sun Kyun also appeared as a guest on Jang Hang Jun’s YouTube content You Were a Director. In addition, he joined the director on MBC’s Omniscient Interfering View when Jang promoted his film Rebound.
