Lee Sun-kyun Almost Cast In Isao Yukisada’s Drama ‘Perfect Family’ Before Drug Scandal Broke Out

Amid drug controversies, netizens recalled when Lee Sun-kyun almost joined Isao Yukisada’s drama

According to the broadcasting industry on October 30th, Lee Sun-kyun reportedly received an offer to appear in “Perfect Family”, which drew attention as a Korean drama by Japanese director Isao Yukisada, around the middle of this year before his drug scandal was reported.

The actor actively reviewed the casting offer to the point that he even had a meeting with director Isao Yukisada, but unfortunately, the plan fell through. Of course, it has nothing to do with the recent drug controversy. It is said that there were differences in opinions during the final coordination process.

At that time, many viewers expressed regrets over the failed casting of Lee Sun-kyun, but “Perfect Family” team later completed their cast lineup with prominent actor Kim Byung-chul. Due to the change in cast, the drama luckily avoided damage due to Lee Sun-kyun’s drug case.

In particular, “Perfect Family” proceeded with an unusual plan of holding a “before filming” press conference in late August and expressed their confidence in the success of the drama. Filming began in September with the goal of releasing it in 2024 through several OTT platforms.

If Lee Sun-kyun had taken the main character role of this drama, the release schedule would have been delayed indefinitely due to the drug scandal like his other works.

Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun is accused of taking drugs, such as marijuana, with Gangnam hostess bar director A since the beginning of this year. The actor tested negative in the simple drug test, but the police have requested a thorough examination from the National Forensic Service.
