Lee Sun-bin, “‘Boyhood’ Director Purposely Cast Actor Looking Like My Boyfriend Lee Kwang-soo”

Actress Lee Sun-bin mentioned her lover Lee Kwang-soo in a recent interview

On December 19th, Lee Sun-bin had an interview for Coupang Play’s drama “Boyhood” at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Set in South Chungcheong Province in 1989, “Boyhood” tells the story that begins when Onyang’s weak boy Jang Byung-tae (Im Si-wan) faces a turning point after transferring to Buyeo High School. Lee Sun-bin starred in this drama as Ji-young, the best high school girl recognized by all students in Buyeo High School.

Regarding the comment that actor Lee Sang-jin, who plays Jo Ho-seok, resembles her boyfriend Lee Kwang-soo, Lee Sun-bin burst into laughter and said, “A lot of people also said that to me. Do they really look like each other?”. In “Boyhood”, Jo Ho-seok has a crush on Ji-young but gets kicked in the face when he confesses to her.

Lee Sun-bin explained, “During our first meeting, the director told me, ‘I cast a tall guy to play Ho-seok on purpose’. At that time, I didn’t understand why he said that, but I think I know the reason now”, adding “My boyfriend Lee Kwang-soo is also enjoying the drama.”

“Boyhood” airs every Friday at 8 p.m.
