On August 19, AKMU’s Lee Su-hyun publicly denied speculation that her recent weight loss was due to using the weight-loss medication Wegovy.
“I didn’t take Wegovy. This is really upsetting,” she wrote. “I fight myself every day, resisting malatang and tteokbokki, working out hard, and building healthy habits.”

In a follow-up message, she reaffirmed her commitment to wellness, “I’m managing myself properly for a sustainable, healthy life. Yes, that’s what I’m doing.”
The clarification came after fans and media outlets began speculating about the cause of her noticeable weight change. When asked by a fan, “How much weight did you lose? You know health comes first, right?” Lee Su-hyun responded warmly: “Thank you. I feel the healthiest I’ve ever been.”
The discussion around Lee Su-hyun’s transformation coincides with a busy period for AKMU. The duo recently kicked off their 2025 AKMU STANDING CONCERT [악동들], performing six sold-out shows on August 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17 at Myunghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul.
Known for their genre-defying creativity and hands-on production involvement, AKMU has received praise for the concert’s unique stage design and fresh artistic vision.
Due to overwhelming demand, additional performances are scheduled for August 22, 23, and 24, extending the run.
Lee Su-hyun’s statement not only puts Wegovy rumors to rest but also highlights her emphasis on long-term health and discipline. By crediting her transformation to exercise and balanced habits, the singer sets an example for fans amid the growing global spotlight on weight-loss drugs.
