The controversy began after multiple posts surfaced on an online camping community regarding excessive noise at a campsite near Jungwon Valley in Yangpyeong. Campers claimed that loud music, shouting, and microphone use continued even after the designated 11 p.m. “manner time.”
“It felt less like a campground and more like a company workshop or MT,” one post read.
Videos allegedly filmed at the scene were shared online, and as the timeline aligned with Lee Si Young’s camping trip with acquaintances, attention quickly shifted toward the actress.
The issue gained further traction as Lee Si Young’s past controversies regarding public etiquette resurfaced. In a previous incident, she faced criticism for filming videos at an overseas restaurant, later issuing an apology. With similar complaints emerging again, some netizens questioned whether the problem was becoming repetitive.
As criticism mounted, Lee Si Young addressed the issue directly on December 29 through her social media story.
“I sincerely apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable at the campsite,” she wrote.
She explained that she had been informed by campsite staff that her group was the only reservation for that day and believed no other campers were present. According to Lee Si Young, she later learned that another group arrived in the evening.
She also added, “Because of my child’s schedule, I arrived late and wasn’t with the group until late at night, so I wasn’t fully aware of the situation. I know how important manner time is, which makes me feel even more sorry.”
