Lee Seung Gi presented a surprise performance for children at SNU Children’s Hospital on Children’s Day

Singer/actor Lee Seung Gi becomes the “angel of hope” for children at Seoul National University Children’s Hospital on Children’s Day (May 5th).

According to the hospital and officials in related fields on May 3rd, Lee Seung Gi visited the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital at Yeongeon-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul at 2 p.m. on the same day and held a surprise performance.

It is said that Lee Seung Gi directly proposed his idea of making an event for the children staying at the hospital for treatment even on Children’s Day to give them the courage to fight disease and comfort their families.

Comedian Yang Se Hyung, who worked with Lee Seung Gi on SBS’s entertainment program “Master in the House”, hosted the event and brought laughter to children and their families. Held in a small hall inside the hospital with the attendance of 250 people, including the patients, their families and hospital staff, the event created a meaningful time.

Together with Yang Se Hyung, Lee Seung Gi gave warm consolation and laughter to the children and their families. He decorated the stage with the performances of “Don’t Worry”, “Thank You”, etc., and aroused loud cheers. The performance, which lasted for over an hour, was said to remain a memorable time for many sick children, their families, and hospital staff. Lee Seung Gi also prepared gifts and food for the patients.

Earlier on December 29th of last year, Lee Seung Gi visited Seoul National University Children’s Hospital and donated 2 billion won. At the time, he personally visited the hospital and expressed his desire to provide a better treatment environment for sick children and their families. Deeply sympathizing with the structural problems of children’s hospitals that suffer losses as they treat more patients and the practical difficulties of the declining rate of support for pediatricians and specialists, the actor decided to support the improvement of medical environments through a fund.

Lee Seung Gi has always shown much interest in children, and it is known that he wants to be a great help to children who are unable to receive support due to their environment, even if they come from difficult backgrounds or have the ability to do well. Such intentions led him to donate to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, and it is said that he decided to hold the performance right ahead of Children’s Day. Even amid his busy schedule preparing for the last stage of his Asia tour “The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter 2” starting on May 4th, the actor insisted on coming to the hospital to perform for the children.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi recently continued to donate. The actor and his wife Lee Da In delivered 110 million won to the Korean Red Cross on April 24th to support mothers and newborns from vulnerable families, as well as to support victims of the Gangneung forest fires. This donation was more meaningful as it was made with the money he received as wedding gifts at their wedding held on April 7.

Joining hands with Human Made last December for a new start, Lee Seung Gi is gearing up for the first broadcasts of two new variety shows, TV Chosun’s “Brother Ramyeon” on May 22 and SBS’s “Strong Heart League” on May 23, both of which are highly anticipated as they feature the combination of Lee Seung Gi and Kang Ho Dong.
