On the November 30 broadcast of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy”, actor Jang Geun Suk’s private life took center stage, but what truly caught viewers’ attention was Lee Seung Gi’s rare and touching insight into his life as a father. He visited Jang’s “secret hideout” alongside fellow singer Lee Hong Ki.
As the only married man among the trio, Lee Seung Gi shared his family life openly. “My daughter is now 21 months old. She’s so adorable and just started going to daycare. I drop her off and pick her up with my wife, and that makes me really happy,” he said with a smile. “Of course, parenting is hard, sometimes more hard than happy. But the happiness hits you so strongly that it’s worth everything.”
When asked about his daily routine, Lee detailed: “She wakes up at 8 a.m., and either my wife or I go straight to her room. We change her diaper, wash her face, and give her breakfast. Then around 9 a.m., we take her to daycare.”
He went on to explain how they avoid conflicts as parents: “Parenting is something the whole family does together. We all go into the bathroom to wash the baby. If you start dividing responsibilities too strictly, that’s when arguments happen.”
When asked who the baby resembles more, Lee replied, “At first, she looked exactly like me, but her face keeps changing every week. Her lower face looks like mine, but from the nose up, she’s her mom.”
The highlight of the segment came when Lee Seung Gi shared an adorable video of his daughter dancing to one of his songs. “I usually test reactions to my new songs before releasing them, and my daughter responded so well to it. She dances to it, shaking her hips like she’s having the best time. She even listened to it about ten times,” he said proudly.
Fans online melted watching the video, admiring the father-daughter bond and Lee’s affection. His happiness as a father was palpable.
Lee Seung Gi married actress Lee Da In, daughter of veteran actress Kyeon Mi Ri, in 2023. The couple welcomed their first daughter last year and have since embraced family life with love and teamwork.
