Appearing on the August 24 episode of the YouTube channel NamooMiki Detective Agency, comedian Lee Se-young candidly shared that she has spent over ₩100 million KRW (approx. $72,000 USD) on various cosmetic procedures. Comparing the expense to buying a luxury car, she joked, “I spent as much money on plastic surgery as a Benz S-Class.”

“I Had to Tie My Chest Up With a Necktie”

The most shocking revelation came when Lee Se-young discussed a past breast filler procedure that went horribly wrong. “I got ₩10 million worth of breast fillers for a swimsuit shoot when I was very underweight,” she explained. “But while working out, I got hit with a barbell, and one side collapsed. It got so bad that I had to tie it with a necktie just to keep it in place.”

Eventually, she underwent emergency surgery to remove the filler: “They had to cut open my chest and scrape it all out. It was really serious.” Lee later opted for implants instead, which she says brought her high personal satisfaction. “When I take off my top, people’s reactions are always intense,” she laughed.

Why She Didn’t Go “All the Way”

Despite the extensive procedures, Lee said she deliberately avoided completely altering her face: “As a comedian, I still wanted to keep my natural look to some extent. If I’d gone further, I think my original features would’ve disappeared.”

Her goal, she stressed, wasn’t just about becoming “prettier,” but also preserving her identity as a public figure known for candid humor and relatability.

Reflecting on Her Past Relationship

Lee Se-young also opened up about her breakup with her Japanese ex-boyfriend, whom she had previously dated publicly. “At the time, my mom was very sick, and he had to go back to Japan. The things we used to do together just stopped. Even though we thought about marriage, we started drifting apart,” she shared.

Now, she says she has no intention of going public with any future relationships: “Once was enough.” Lee Se-young’s honest, unfiltered recounting of her experience sheds light on the physical and emotional tolls of plastic surgery in the entertainment industry—especially for women under intense scrutiny.
