According to a report from News1 on the 31st, Lee Naeun will be appearing in the new drama “Ai Shopping” (written by Lee Byung-hoon, directed by Oh Ki-hwan).
“Ai Shopping” is an adaptation of the webtoon of the same name serialized on Daum. The webtoon gained attention for its controversial story involving an adoption broker who buys abandoned children from their parents and assigns a price to them, offering services like ‘refund’ in case of problems in raising the child, depicting the tragedy of an illegal adoption cartel. Despite the tragedy, “Ai Shopping” portrays the active survival journey of children who move forward, using anger and wounds as their weapons.
Previously, it was revealed that Yeom Jung-ah and Won Jin-ah will also appear in “Ai Shopping,” and YouTuber Deks garnered attention for taking on acting for the first time. Anticipation is expected for Lee Naeun’s new portrayal in “Ai Shopping.”
Lee Naeun debuted as a member of the group April, balancing girl group activities with acting. However, in February 2020, she suspended her activities due to controversies within the group. At that time, through the fan cafe, Lee Naeun expressed her feelings, stating, “I really wanted to say that it wasn’t true, that there was no such thing.”
April announced their disbandment in January 2022, and Lee Naeun, after signing an exclusive contract with the acting management agency Namu Actors, has been preparing for the second phase of her career.
