Lee Min-ho, Yoon Yeo-jung, Kim Min-ha’s “Pachinko” helps Apple TV+ to have its first crown, ranking 1st among all OTT platforms in Korea

Based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name, Apple TV+’s original series “Pachinko” topped the crossed-platform OTT content rankings in Korea.

According to Kinolights, which provides OTT content integrated search and recommendation services, Apple TV+’s “Pachinko” was named No. 1 in viewing rankings among all OTT platforms in Korea as of today (Mar 30th). Second place was Apple TV+‘s “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for the Best Picture, and third place is Seezn’s original drama “Hope or Dope.”

This is the first time Apple TV+ tops the Kinolights integrated rankings since November last year when the service launched in Korea. Analysts say that “Pachinko” has maintained 98% freshness on Rotten Tomato, a representative criticism site, and has been well received by critics around the world. The actors’ passionate performance has attracted attention from may audiences as well. 

Meanwhile, “Pachinko” is a delicate and warm story about the hopes and dreams of Korean immigrant families in history and is catching the eyes of viewers around the world shortly after three first episodes were released on Mar 25th.
