Actors Lee Jung Jae and Lim Ji Yeon are set to deliver a sharp-tongued love-hate chemistry in Nice to Not Meet You, tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama, which premieres on November 3. On October 2, the production team unveiled short character teasers, spotlighting the clashing charms of Lim Hyun Joon (played by Lee Jung Jae) and Wi Jung Shin (played by Lim Ji Yeon).
The series tells the story of a once-beloved national actor who has lost his spark and an entertainment journalist obsessed with justice. Their fierce back-and-forths, fact-driven clashes, and prejudice-breaking moments promise laughter, relatability, and heartwarming tension against the backdrop of Korea’s chaotic entertainment industry.
What’s already fueling excitement is the dazzling cast lineup: Lee Jung Jae, Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Ji Hoon, and Seo Ji Hye. The show is helmed by director Kim Ga Ram (Good Partner, Nevertheless) and writer Jung Yeo Rang, who previously created a sensation with Doctor Cha. Expectations are high for the synergy between the acclaimed cast and creative team.
In the teasers, Lee Jung Jae portrays Lim Hyun Joon, who rose to fame playing detective Kang Pil Goo — a role that brought him countless awards and national acclaim. Yet beneath the image of the heroic cop, the actor longs to escape the typecasting that has defined his career for seven years. Meanwhile, Lim Ji Yeon’s Wi Jung Shin shows relentless drive, willing to face any challenge for a scoop. Once a political desk ace, her life is turned upside down when she’s reassigned to entertainment reporting. Struggling to adapt to a world where she doesn’t even recognize idol names or hit dramas, her clashes with Lim Hyun Joon ignite comedic sparks — highlighted in a teaser where the two butt heads, literally, in a hospital corridor.
Fans are already enthusiastic, flooding teasers with comments like: “Even the teasers are already hilarious,” “I can’t wait to see this,” “Lim Ji Yeon is going to kill this role,” and “Lee Jung Jae doing comedy is a must-watch.”
Nice to Not Meet You premieres November 3 at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN.
