Lee Jung Jae got a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival, but netizens were more surprised by the woman sitting behind him
At the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, the identity of the woman caught with famous actor Lee Jung Jae drew huge attention.
On May 19th (local time) at the Lumière Theater in Cannes, France, a premiere screening of “The Hunt” – Lee Jung Jae’s directorial debut film was held. The movie, which was never revealed before, received a standing ovation from the audience.
After the screening, the audience all stood up to applaud leading actors and the crew. Lee Jung Jae, Jung Woo Sung, and other movie officials responded with bright smiles to such positive reactions. After the 7-minute standing ovation, Lee Jung Jae shouted “Thank you” in three languages, including English, French, and Korean.
On the same day, a live video broadcast through the official YouTube channel of the Cannes made headlines for one particular detail. In particular, eyes were drawn to a woman, who was sitting right behind Lee Jung Jae and giving her own applause. There, dressed in an off-shoulder yellow gown, was Lim Se Ryung – the vice president of Daesang Group, and Lee Jung Jae’s girlfriend of 7 years.
Lim Se Ryung seemed to avoid the camera, and only quietly cheered for her lover. The couple officially started dating back in 2015, and revealed that their relationship progressed from close friends to loving partners.
Meanwhile, Lee Jung Jae greeted the audience of his first directorial work “The Hunt”. This is a spy action movie that stars Lee Jung Jae and his close friend Jung Woo Sung and focuses on Intelligence Ministry agents Park Pyong Ho and Kim Jeong Do, who suspect each other while finding a hidden spy in their organization.
