Actor Lee Jae-wook recently opened up about the behind-the-scenes story of performing “Let’s Say Goodbye” on KBS2’s “The Seasons – Zico’s Artist” during a guest appearance on the YouTube channel “Zo Zazz”.
On October 29, “Zo Zazz” uploaded a video titled “Let’s Say Goodbye Behind Story | Lim Seulong & Lee Jae-wook”, featuring a candid and light-hearted conversation with the two stars. While discussing Lim Seulong’s latest track “Fearless”, the host complimented its healing qualities. In return, Seulong praised Jae-wook’s unique voice, describing it as “sexy” and “rock vocalist-like” with a rough but attractive tone.
The conversation shifted to Lee Jae-wook’s surprise discovery of his own singing abilities. He recalled being cast for “The Seasons” after singing on the Zo Zazz show, where Zico reportedly asked, “Hyung, why is that guy so good at singing?” Impressed, Zico personally approached Jae-wook and asked, “Do you know what I’m doing right now? Would you appear on my show and sing that exact song?”

The song turned out to be “Let’s Say Goodbye”, originally by Parc Jae-jung. Reflecting on the experience, Lee admitted, “After the performance, I collapsed backstage thinking, ‘Wow, it’s over.’”
Toward the end of the video, Lee showcased his vocal talents again by performing WOODZ’s “Drowning” and Kim Feel’s “Ice Fortress”, earning admiration from the host and viewers alike.
Lee had originally performed “Let’s Say Goodbye” in August last year on Zico’s Artist, delivering an emotionally charged rendition that resonated with audiences. However, at the time, some viewers speculated that the song choice hinted at his then-public relationship with aespa’s Karina.

Lee Jae-wook and Karina went public with their relationship in February last year, stirring much attention. However, due to intense backlash from fans and growing pressure, the couple announced their breakup after just five weeks.
Lee will return to television on November 1 at 9:20 PM KST in the upcoming KBS2 drama “Last Summer”, a romantic drama that follows childhood friends confronting the truth behind their first love hidden like Pandora’s box.
