“Tangeum” is a mystery romance historical drama based on the novel of the same name. Set in a group of merchants during the Joseon Dynasty, it revolves around the secret of a son who suddenly returns after disappearing, and his half-sister who pursues the truth. It sheds light on missing children at that time. “Tangeum” is directed by genre master Kim Hong Sun, who directed the dramas “Voice”, “The Guest”, “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” and “The Bait”. It is written by writer Kim Jin Ah of “Dr. Brain” and produced by Acemaker.

Lee Jae Wook plays Hong Rang. He grew up like a prince, but disappeared at a young age then suddenly returned after more than a decade.

Jo Bo Ah takes on the role of Jae Yi. Jae Yi grew up like a weed amid the neglect of her biological father and the abuse of her stepmother. She lived by relying on her half-brother Hong Rang, but faced a big ordeal when Hong Rang disappeared.

Lee Jae Wook successfully led two seasons of tvN’s fantasy romance action drama “Alchemy of Souls”, which ended earlier this year. After receiving favorable reviews for digesting various genres such as action, romance and bromance, he recently left a strong impression by making a special appearance as Sol Kyung Gu’s younger counterpart in Netflix’s “Kill Boksoon”. Expectations are high on how Lee Jae Wook, who challenges the second historical drama following “Alchemy of Souls”, will meet viewers in “Tangeum”. The new face of Jo Bo Ah, who transformed into military prosecutor Cha Woo In with an impressive short cut in tvN’s “Military Prosecutor Doberman” last year, is also highly anticipated.
