Lee Honey’s “Knight Flower” Surpasses Ahn Bo-hyun’s “Flex X Cop” In MBC and SBS’s Friday-Saturday Drama War

According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research firm, the sixth episode of “Knight Flower,” which aired on February 3rd, achieved 12.6% ratings nationwide. The instantaneous peak rating soared to 14.9 percent. The figure is twice as high as that of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “Flex X Cop” (6.3%).

“Knight Flower” is a comic action historical drama in which Yeo-hwa (Lee Honey) is a widow, the eldest daughter-in-law of a noble family during the day and a hero wearing a mask at night. “Knight Flower” started with 7.9% viewership in its first episode on April 12, recorded double-digit viewership (10.8%) in its third episode, briefly slowed down to 7.9% in its fourth episode, before rebounding to 13.1% in its seventh episode. The figure exceeds that of MBC’s most popular drama “My Dearest” (12.9%) last year.

While “Knight Flower” has established itself as a new powerhouse, “Flex X Cop,” starring Ahn Bo-hyun, has gathered less attention. It started with 5.7% viewership in the first episode on January 26th, rose to 6.9% in the second episode, but has remained at a standstill since then with 6.6% (three times) and 6.3% (four times). Following the footsteps of Kim Nam-gil, Namkoong Min and Lee Je-hoon, MBC has put up star actor Ahn Jung-hyun as its new hero. However, it is not enough to catch up with “Knight Flower.”
