Lee Han-byeol, Lee Jung-ha, Kim Do-hoon “Gemstones discovered by ‘Mask Girl’ and ‘Moving’”

These rising stars have stamped their faces properly in the industry after finding roles that suit them perfectly

Actress Lee Han-byeol made her debut last month in Netflix’s original series “Mask Girl“, which premiered on September 18th.

“Mask Girl” depicts the story of Kim Mo-mi (Lee Han-byeol/Go Hyun-jung/Nana), an office worker who is insecure about her looks. She becomes a masked internet personality by night — until a chain of unexpected, ill-fated events overtakes her life.

This work is based on the webtoon of the same name. Lee Han-byeol garnered attention for her resemblance to Kim Mo-mi before plastic surgery in the webtoon. Moreover, she beat the odds with a competition rate of 1,000 to 1 to win the role in “Mask Girl”.

Even before the release of the series, Lee Han-byeol gained attention for her excellent synchronization with the character from the webtoon and for overcoming the pressure of portraying a character with appearance complexes. Despite being her debut work, she received praise for smoothly portraying Kim Mo-mi’s complex emotions.

For Lee Han-byeol, this project was a challenge. Not only was it her debut, but she also had to portray a character with appearance issues. However, with her passion for acting, she successfully overcame the pressure and showcased her presence through her performance.

While Netflix discovered Lee Han-byeol, Disney+ found actors Lee Jung-ha and Kim Do-hoon.

Lee Jung-ha and Kim Do-hoon appeared in Disney+’s original series “Moving”, which premiered on August 9th.

“Moving” is a supernatural drama that deals with three teenage high school students and their parents who discover their superpowers. It is based on the webtoon of the same name by webtoon artist-screenwriter Kang Full.

In the series, Lee Jung-ha played the role of Bong-seok, who inherits his father Doo-sik’s (Jo In-sung) flying abilities and his mother Mi-hyun’s (Han Hyo-joo) superhuman senses. Kim Do-hoon took on the role of Gang-hoon, Lee Jae-man’s (Kim Sung-kyun) son who possesses superhuman strength and speed.

To synchronize with the webtoon character, Lee Jung-ha gained 30kg. He confessed, “I tried my best to become Bong-seok and maintain that image. Honestly, there were difficult moments. I usually regulate my eating to maintain my physique, so it was the first time I saw myself getting chubby.”

Lee Jung-ha portrayed Bong-seok as a kind yet righteous character. Viewers were charmed by his growth from an innocent boy to a more mature person.

Kim Do-hoon, on the other hand, played Gang-hoon, the class leader who has extraordinary intelligence and impeccable manners. Kim Do-hoon transformed into Gang-hoon, who always maintains his composure, contributing significantly to the series’ popularity.
