On the September 24 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Radio Star, Lee El appeared alongside Kim Mi-kyung, Jang So-yeon, and Im Soo-hyang for a special feature. Known for her transformative roles in Inside Men, The Yellow Sea, Man on High Heels, and It’s Okay, That’s Love, Lee El explained that she takes pride when people fail to recognize her due to her chameleon-like performances.
She then revealed that while playing Samsin Halmeoni in the hit drama Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin), it took five hours just to complete her makeup. The process wasn’t limited to her face every part of her exposed skin, including her hands, required intensive work.

Lee El admitted that once the makeup was applied, she could neither eat nor go to the restroom. “On filming days, I just endure it. I even start limiting my water intake from home before coming to the set,” she explained, surprising the audience with the extent of her preparation.
Radio Star airs every Wednesday at 10:30 PM KST on MBC, featuring candid conversations that bring out unfiltered stories from celebrity guests.
