On July 23, Lee Dong Wook sat down for an interview at a café in Seoul’s Gangnam District to discuss Disney+’s A Shop for Killers Season 2, in which he reprises his role as Jung Jin Man. Since only the first two episodes had been released at the time, the interview avoided major spoilers.
A Shop for Killers 2 follows Jian (Kim Hye Joon), who has become the new head of the mysterious shopping mall after enduring a brutal succession process. Together with the unexpectedly returned Jin Man (Lee Dong Wook), she launches a counterattack against the global organization known as Babylon.

During the series’ production press conference on July 20, Lee had already mentioned how the story made him reflect on his real-life relationship with his niece. “In Season 1, viewers saw more of Kim Hye Joon’s younger version, but in Season 2, there are many more emotional exchanges with the adult Jian. The story explores how Jin Man wonders what kind of life his niece should have after becoming part of this dangerous world. I actually have a niece who’s in the second grade, and it made me realize I probably haven’t done enough for her.”
Expanding on the story during the interview, Lee Dong Wook revealed that his niece recently invited him to attend one of her school’s observation classes. “I didn’t ask if she had seen the article,” he said with a laugh. “Not long ago, she asked if I could come to her school’s open class. Unfortunately, I had to film on set all day.” Despite his absence, his niece responded maturely. “She calmly said, ‘It’s okay, Uncle.'”

Lee Dong Wook also shared another adorable moment that made him smile. “She called me once and said, ‘Uncle, you’re a celebrity, right? You are a celebrity, aren’t you? See? I told you so!'” Laughing, he added, ” By the second grade, kids already know everything.”
Disney+’s A Shop for Killers Season 2 premiered on July 22 with Episodes 1 and 2. The series consists of eight episodes, with two new episodes released every Wednesday.
