Lee Dong-hwi Excited for Girlfriend Jung Ho-yeon’s Appearance on ‘Pinggyego’, Hopes to See True Self
Lee Dong-hwi expressed his anticipation for Jung Ho-yeon's appearance in Yoo Jae-suk’s talk show "Pinggyego"
On March 30th, actors Lee Je-hoon and Lee Dong-hwi appeared as guests on the YouTube channel “Ddeunddeun.”
Yoo Jae-suk announced that Jung Ho-yeon would soon appear as a guest, saying, “Finally, Ho-yeon said she will show her wit.” Lee Dong-hwi said, “I heard the news. Ho-yeon seems very enthusiastic right now. Whether she will show her true self or bring great fun to people, it’s a part I’m really looking forward to.”
Yoo Jae-suk also revealed the first encounter episode with Lee Dong-hwi. He said, “The first time I met Dong-hwi was on a set for an advertisement. He came as an extra and asked for my autograph on the script. He even gave me a letter he wrote earnestly the day before. I thought, ‘I hope things go well for this guy.’ A few months later, he starred in ‘Reply 1988.’ I was surprised when I saw him.”
Lee Je-hoon asked, “Was it your first time getting an autograph from a famous person?” Lee Dong-hwi replied, “It wasn’t the first time, but the people who gave me autographs are countable on one hand. It was on my bucket list. I grew up watching ‘Infinite Challenge’ and gained great comfort and courage from it.”
He continued, “It’s amazing how human relationships work,” to which Yoo Jae-suk added, “I also got an autograph from senior Cho Yong-pil. I got a signature from Director Cha Bum-geun back in high school. I went to cheer for him during my school days and got his autograph.”
Lee Je-hoon mentioned, “There was an actor I deeply admired in the same building where my management office is located. Senior Han Suk-kyu. And then the movie I shot after that was with him.'”
Lee Dong-hwi explained the reason he pursued the path of an actor, saying, “My dream was originally to be a cartoonist. I lacked drawing skills, but I found myself making facial expressions that couldn’t be expressed through drawings. I thought I should choose a profession where I can express myself directly, so I applied to the Department of Theater and Film. My parents really disliked the idea of me drawing cartoons.”
He added, “It makes me very happy when younger friends mention me or recognize me. ZEROBASEONE mentioned me. I met them at the 2023 AAA, and they expressed interest in collaborating with me in interviews afterward. I was very grateful. When I told Ho-yeon about it, she said, ‘Don’t believe what people say,’ and laughed.”
