Lee Do Hyun to join Ra Mi Ran as leads of new drama “Bad Mother”

Lee Do Hyun has been cast to lead JTBC’s “Bad Mother”. 

According to a broadcasting official on August 22nd, Lee Do Hyun recently received an offer to play the lead in JTBC’s new drama “Bad Mother” (literal title) and he is positively reviewing the offer. “Bad Mother” will be directed by Shim Na Yeon, director of “Beyond Evil”, and penned by screenwriter Bae Se Young. Production for “Bad Mother” has recently begun with the goal of broadcasting early next year.

“Bad Mother” tells the story of a mother who has spent all her life living for her child and her son, a prosecutor who suffers from amnesia in an unexpected accident and returns to a child.

In the drama, Lee Do Hyun is set to play Kang Ho, a son who becomes a prosecutor as his mother wishes, but ends up losing his memory due to an accident. Together with Ra Mi Ran, who will play Yeong Soon, the mother, the two will portray the touching relationship between the mother and her son. 

Lee Do Hyun has been working hard as an actor. He recently finished filming for Netflix’s original series “The Glory”, where he starred alongside Song Hye Kyo. He has also been cast in his debut movie “Pamyo”, which is being prepared for production.

Lee Do Hyun made his debut in the 2017 tvN drama “Prison Playbook” and made his name known by appearing in tvN’s “Hotel Del Luna” in 2019. Since then, he has risen to the top among young trending actors by starring in JTBC’s “18 Again” in 2020, Netflix’s original series “Sweet Home”, and KBS 2TV’s “Youth in May” last year.
