On May 5, Lee Chanhyuk posted a series of photos along with a heartfelt message on his personal social media account, revealing a sense of emptiness that lingered after completing a long creative process. Alongside images showcasing his noticeably transformed appearance—featuring a beard, wavy hair, and sunglasses—he conveyed a more free-spirited and rugged image compared to his previous clean-cut look.

In his post, Lee Chanhyuk wrote, “After sending off the work I held onto for so long, my heart has felt empty for weeks.” He went on to express the complex emotions of a creator, adding, “The moment something that was mine becomes everyone’s, it even feels like something is being taken away.”

He further reflected on his artistic drive, explaining that despite these feelings, he continues to create in pursuit of something only he can truly possess. His words resonated with many fans, offering a rare glimpse into the internal struggles behind artistic success.

At the same time, Lee Chanhyuk did not forget to express gratitude, saying, “I’m glad the album reached so many people. It’s good for Suhyun, good for me, and good for all of you.”
The post comes shortly after AKMU released their first full-length album in approximately 7 years, titled “Blooming (개화)”, featuring a total of 11 tracks—all written and composed by Lee Chanhyuk himself. The album has been performing strongly on music charts, receiving positive responses from listeners.
Despite the commercial success, Lee Chanhyuk’s honest confession highlights the emotional weight carried by creators, shedding light on the lesser-seen side of achieving artistic recognition.
