Who is Yunjin? 

Huh Yunjin, born on October 8, 2001 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, was raised in the US. She is a singer-songwriter and producer of K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM.

Yunjin’s Career 

• “Produce 48”

In 2018, Yunjin competed in the survival program “Produce 48” as a trainee under Pledis Entertainment, and from here started to gain influence in the K-pop industry. 

However, she was eliminated in Episode 11 after placing 26th, and failed to make it to the debut line-up of project group IZ*ONE.

Afterwards, Yunjin returned to the US, before being recruited by Source Music for their girl group project.

• LE SSERAFIM + Solo Ventures

Yunjin ended up debuting as a member of girl group LE SSERAFIM in May 2022. She has since participated in the lyrics writing and composition of several releases.

Yunjin has two siblings: a younger sister and a younger brother.

Yunjin trained the longest out of all of the members of LE SSERAFIM, for a total of 4 years and 5 months (including her time under Pledis Entertainment). She is also a former SM Entertainment trainee and shared a dorm with aespa’s Winter and Ningning. 

Her English name is Jennifer, and she can speak English and Korean fluently. She has a U.S. passport and often uses it when traveling with LE SSERAFIM for the group’s activities (such as concerts and fanmeetings) outside of South Korea.

She is a huge fan of BTS, and used to have stan account for the boy group on SNS platform Twitter (currently X). 

Yunjin is very sporty and dreamed of being a professional field hockey player when she was younger.

Controversy

In early 2024, LE SSERAFIM came under fire for allegedly promoting beverage chain Starbucks. In particular, Starbucks is currently facing a boycott movement due to the brand preventing its workers from showing support for Palestine, which is undergoing a humanitarian crisis. Additionally, Huh Yunjin specifically faced criticism due to being spotted drinking Starbucks again in March.

Dating Rumors

Yunjin & Basketball player: In late 2023, various sources claimed that Huh Yunjin was romantically linked to Lakers player Austin Reeves, with video shipping the two even going viral on TikTok. However, most people regard this rumor to be highly improbable, due to lack of evidence and interaction.

Yunjin & TXT’s Yeonjun: In 2024, various alleged “dating hints” of Huh Yunjin and TXT’s Yeonjun were uncovered, including the two’s interaction, supposed “couple items”, and a Spotify account said to belong to Yunjin with artwork similar to the female idol’s style. However, most fans believe this to be baseless accusations, and the two idols’ side never spoke up regarding the rumors.
