Chaewon’s Career
- “Produce 48” & IZ*ONE:
In 2018, Chaewon competed in the survival program “Produce 48” as a trainee under Woollim Entertainment, and from here started to gain influence in the K-pop industry.
She later placed 10th in the show’s finale, making her an official member of project girl group IZ*ONE. Chaewon was active under IZ*ONE until the group’s disbandment in April 2021.

After IZ*ONE’s disbandment, Chaewon’s contract with Woollim was transferred to HYBE, as the female idol was recruited by subsidiary Source Music for their girl group.
Chaewon ended up debuting as a member of girl group LE SSERAFIM in May 2022. She has since participated in the lyrics writing and composition of several releases.

Controversy
lnvestigations regarding “Produce 48” once revealed that the show manipulated vote, leading to a false final line-up, where several people were pushed out and replaced with others through vote manipulation. Among those, due to her past rankings on the show and affiliation with her celebrity mother, Chaewon was suspected to have unfairly debuted and “stole” the chance from a fellow competitor, leading to criticism.
