LE SSERAFIM’s agency HYBE has started to erase traces of Kim Ga-ram, whose exclusive contract just got terminated due to controversy over her school violence past.
Kim Ga-ram, a former member of LE SSERAFIM, has been kicked out of the group due to her controversy over school violence, and her agency has begun to erase her traces.
As of July 20th, the member introduction has been changed on the official website of LE SSERAFIM. LE SSERAFIM’s agency Source Music, which is under HYBE, introduces LE SSERAFIM as a girl group consisting of five multinational members, including Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Heo Yoon-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae.
However, Kim Ga-ram’s photos remain on LE SSERAFIM’s official social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
LE SSERAFIM made their debut as a six-member group including Kim Ga-ram, but has changed the introduction of the team in consideration of the termination of Ga-ram’s exclusive contract.
Changes have also been made to LE SSERAFIM’s profile on Korean portal site profiles. According to portal sites, artists’ profiles are modified when the companies request it.
Portal sites such as Naver, Daum, Nate now display LE SSERAFIM, as a five-member group, without Kim Ga-ram. One portal site even stated in LE SSERAFIM’s career that “member Kim Ga-ram (left the group).” Kim Ga-ram’s profile also got changed to “singer” rather than “a member of LE SSERAFIM”.
Her profiles on other portal sites will be changed after some examination. It usually takes five to seven days if the agency or celebrity themselves requests a profile application.
HYBE announced the termination of Kim Ga-ram’s exclusive contract on July 20th. The agency said, “We have decided to terminate our exclusive contract with Kim Ga-ram,” adding, “We sincerely apologize for causing inconvenience to fans and many others due to the related controversies.”
This is the aftermath of the alleged school violence controversy surrounding Kim Ga-ram.
Suspicions of school violence surrounding Kim Ga-ram began in April when posts exposing her past continued to go viral on the online community.
Her agency refuted the allegations as “false facts,” but it had to face a new phase as victim A appointed a legal representative and officially responded to their position.
As a result, LE SSERAFIM has continued their activities as a five-member team without Kim Ga-ram.
