Some parts of the choreography in the music video of LE SSERAFIM’s title song “Fearless” have been pointed out to be inappropriate.
LE SSERAFIM has just made a splendid debut with the release of their debut song “Fearless” on May 2nd. However, the choreography in their music video recently raised heated discussions.
The music video contains the debut song with sensuous sounds and sophisticated beats. In addition, the overwhelming visuals and diverse performances of the members caught the eyes of not only fans but also netizens.
However, what drew the most attention was LE SSERAFIM’s provocative dance. In the middle of the music video, LE SSERAFIM members did a choreography in which they lay down on the floor and move their waists up and down to the rhythm. This part was said to be too provocative. Some netizens believed that the choreography was not appropriate for LE SSERAFIM since the girl group has members who are still minors.
The camera angle and directing for the close-up shots of the choreography, which focused mainly on the upper bodies of the members, were said to be too excessive. Other Internet users expressed opinions that the choreography was similar to that performed by foreign pop stars Jason Derulo and Cardi B, who are famous for their sexy concepts.
However, LE SSERAFIM presented a new choreography at their debut showcase held on the same day, which is completely different from what they showed in the music video.
Earlier in their debut trailer, leader Kim Chae-won made headlines by boasting the “under boop” fashion and exposing the bottom part of her chest. The members of LE SSERAFIM were also criticized for wearing high heels to match short tennis suits, which was considered an inappropriate combination. As a result, netizens continued to respond intensely to the choreography in the music video.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM has been receiving huge attention even before their debut and is expected to be representative idols of the next generation.
