On the 7th, the official account of the Bitnara Foundation introduced the project, saying, “The Bitnara Foundation’s ‘Cheongchun Mit Up’ is a psychological counseling project planned to support the healthy artistic activities of young cultural artists.”
In the video, Kim Sodam stated, “This is my first formal greeting in front of the camera. I feel like I’ve been hiding and unable to come to the surface, but now I’m finding ways to share my inner stories, and that’s how this started.”
She continued, “There are stories that I wanted to tell but couldn’t, stories that I struggled with alone. I believe many of you may have such stories too. I think there is a way for us not to face these struggles alone and to overcome them together. I hope we can create a time where we can step out and overcome these challenges together, rather than being trapped in that time.”
The late Jonghyun passed away on December 18, 2017, at the age of 27. It was known that he had been suffering from depression during his lifetime.
After his passing, his mother established the Bitnara Foundation in the fall of 2018. The foundation, based on the royalties Jonghyun left behind, offers scholarship programs to support young artists who are going through difficult times without being part of an agency.
