Japanese dancer Kyoka has opened up about the struggles she faced during a severe health crisis. Recently, she appeared on YouTube channel “Olive Young TV” to share a timeline of her life and career.
Kyoka recalled her first dance competition, saying: “I started dancing at eight years old, and within less than a year, I entered a competition.” She added: “I even won. I never imagined I would win. I was competitive, but since it was my first contest after starting dance, I remember being extremely nervous.”

By 2016, she achieved a world title. “Becoming number one in the world was always my dream,” she said. “I reached the world finals, but I lost in the very last match, finishing second. That memory was so frustrating it pushed me to keep practicing.”
She also reflected on a dark chapter in her life: “In 2015, I was sick. My condition was so serious that my life was at risk, and I thought I might never be able to dance again. Exactly one year later, I had that breakthrough moment, and that’s when I finally won the world championship.”
Kyoka gained popularity this year through Mnet’s World of Street Woman Fighter, where she competed as a member of the Japanese crew Osaka Ojo Gang. After the show ended in July, the team also participated in the nationwide concert tour. However, leader Ibuki was notably absent from the stage.
Tensions later escalated when Kyoka and other members accused Ibuki’s manager of embezzlement. Ibuki denied the claims, and the conflict between the two sides has continued to intensify.
