“Kris has syphilis”…Fans defended vs. Netizens needled

Former EXO member Kris (Chinese name Wu Yifan, 33), who was sentenced to prison for sexual assault in China, was revealed to have STD (sexually transmitted disease). Nevertheless, when some fans defended Kris, netizens needled.

On Jan 26th, a woman uploaded an exposure post on Chinese SNS Weibo, saying, “It’s certain that Kris has syphilis.” This person claimed, “I had to have sex with him even during menstruation, and (Kris) secretly filmed a video.”

The woman heralded further disclosure, “More disgusting facts haven’t been revealed yet.” She told those who do not believe her words, “I hope you have conscience. If you don’t, I hope you meet human trash like Kris.”

Some fans defended Kris with reactions such as “Don’t talk about the whole situation as if you had seen it”, “You deserve to be criticized no matter what Wu Yifan does”, “I feel relieved since the public criticizes you” and “You’re mentally ill.”

However, other local netizens needled and expressed concern over these fans, “What is the psychology of defending rapists?”, “Does Wu Yifan still have fans here?” and “Did you read the post properly?”
