Veteran K-pop singer Bbaek Ga, a member of legendary co-ed group Koyote, has shared a deeply emotional story from his past involving financial hardship and unpaid labor.
On December 19, Bbaek Ga appeared as a guest on Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show, where he revealed that he once worked as a delivery driver for an entire month—without receiving a single won in payment.
According to Bbaek Ga, the incident occurred during a period when he urgently needed a significant amount of money. In an effort to make ends meet, he took on a delivery job at a restaurant located near a large construction site.

“I worked as a delivery driver for about a month,” he explained. “Every day, I kept going because I really needed the money.”
When payday finally arrived at the end of the month, Bbaek Ga visited the restaurant feeling hopeful. However, his anticipation quickly turned into shock.
The restaurant owners informed him that they were unable to pay his wages—not even a single cent. The couple explained that the construction company responsible for the nearby apartment complex had gone bankrupt, leaving them in severe financial distress.

As the owners broke down in tears while explaining their situation, Bbaek Ga said he couldn’t hold back his emotions either.
“I just stood there crying,” he recalled. “It felt like my whole world had collapsed.”
After working tirelessly for an entire month, he walked away with nothing.
After leaving the restaurant empty-handed, Bbaek Ga wandered through Myeongdong, where he happened to come across a dance competition being held in front of a newly opened snowboard shop. The prize for first place was a snowboard.
On a whim, he decided to participate—and to his surprise, he won first place.

While it didn’t replace the unpaid wages, Bbaek Ga said the unexpected win felt like a small consolation after such a devastating experience.
Bbaek Ga debuted in 2004 at the age of 23 as a member of Koyote, one of South Korea’s most enduring and successful music groups. Beyond music, he has built a diverse career, appearing in dramas and films such as Man to Man and Emergency Act 19, as well as popular variety shows including 2 Days & 1 Night and Amazing Saturday.
His story resonated with listeners, highlighting the reality that even well-known entertainers can face severe financial struggles behind the scenes.
By sharing his experience openly, Bbaek Ga offered a powerful reminder of perseverance—and the unpredictability of life, even for stars.
