Korean Politician Accused Yoon Seok-yeol President Administration Of Using Celebrities’ Drug Scandals To Cover Misdeeds

Amid continuous drug scandals in the entertainment industry, some Korean politicians have their own theory

In connection with the recent series of investigations into celebrity drug charges, Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon pointed out that “drugs have nothing to do with politics” after a series of so-called “conspiracy theories” were made by some opposition parties that “the drugs scandals were released to divert critical attention to the current regime.” This was during a audit by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly on October 26.

Earlier on the same day, Democratic Party of Korea‘s member Ahn Min-seok appeared on YTN radio’s show “News King Park Ji-hoon” and raised a conspiracy theory, saying, “Politics is an art of timing, but if you’re not a fool, you will realize someone might have planned it.”

Lawmaker Ahn said, “The Yoon Suk-yeol administration has faced the biggest crisis now as it has lost a by-election for the head of Gangseo-gu Office since its inauguration,” adding, “Such celebrities as Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) are representative celebrities in Korea.” “I think it (may not be coincidence) to use the drug issue of celebrities to cover the regime’s crisis at this point,” he also said.

Ahn is not the only lawmaker who raised conspiracy theories about celebrity drug investigations. In a post on his Facebook page on the 21st, Lee Kyung, a full-time deputy spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said, “Are you going to cover it with a celebrity drug scandal?” He beloved that the scandals are to cover the news that the daughter of secretary Kim Seung-hee were the perpetrator of school violence and caused nine weeks of injuries.
