Korean netizens react to LE SSERAFIM having “celebrity privileges”

A topic mentioning the “celebrity privileges” enjoyed by girl group LE SSERAFIM is gaining huge attention in Korea.

On the afternoon of July 4th, a topic titled “Looking at LE SSERAFIM, I feel very envious of the privileges of celebrities” was published on the Korean forum “Pann Nate”. The topic has since gained massive attention, with around 150,000 views and over 1,000 interactions.

In the topic, the author attached various photos of LE SSERAFIM, as well as listed the “privileges” the members enjoy, which includes:

  1. On a hot day, security guards hold parasols to keep them cool
  2. They didn’t need to do ticketing and instead just went straight to the first row. Regular people even had to wait for them because they arrived late
  3. Dancing next to office workers who work all day just for a TikTok challenge.

Finally, the author expressed dissatisfaction with these “privileges” and added, “I honestly don’t understand why they are trying to create such a toxic and old-fashioned concept (of celebrities being above others). Honestly, their songs are composed and produced by another, and the same goes for their concepts, choreographies, make up, and clothes…”

Under the comment section, many netizens agree with the author, whilst some argue against their opinion.

  • [+131, -62] I understand. If only I had been born cool like others, someone would have held an umbrella for me and things would have been different. It’s so unfair and frustrating to be born like this, facing belittlement and hardships in life. I hope you have a good day.
  • [+109, -27] All idols are the same, but you only post this about female idols. LE SSERAFIM isn’t the only case. Do you only write this kind of thing for popular female idols? As long as it’s an idol, it’s annoying for you to see them receive tribute, to make money well, and to have a bodyguard hold their umbrella. How come you are always saying this about female idols?
  • [+92, -32] While you’re struggling, members of LE SSERAFIM are using umbrellas held by someone else. I’m really envious… It’s really pitiful to be born into a lower position
  • [+82, -22] Yeah… It seems like LE SSERAFIM didn’t consider the feelings of lower-class people at the bottom of life…. Let’s cheer up today too
  • [+74, -19] I wonder if you have done anything on your own. Do you ever think of repaying the parents that fed, clothed, and invested in you? Why are you always thinking about and getting angry at celebrities who live completely different lives?
