Korean media outlet revealed the shocking reason why Chumchurum replaced BLACKPINK Jennie with Han So-hee

Some sources suggest that Jennie (BLACKPINK) was replaced by Han So Hee because she did not generate the expected revenue for the brand.

Not long ago, a famous beverage brand chose Han So Hee, who is known as the “Song Hye Kyo look-alike,” as the new model to replace Jennie (BLACKPINK). Initially, this information did not cause controversy because it is normal for an artist to transfer their representative position to someone else after their advertising contract ends.

However, on March 18th, the news that Han So Hee had unexpectedly taken over Jennie’s position drew attention again, after Salgoonews revealed the underlying reason why the brand chose a replacement. According to the Korean news outlet, Jennie lost her representative position because she did not ensure sales revenue for the brand.

Salgoonews cited information from a person who is believed to be an employee of the beverage brand: “We decided to switch the advertising model from Jennie to Han So Hee after two years. Initially, the brand chose Jennie to refresh its image, but sales revenue gradually decreased over time. This is unusual because the previous brand representatives, Lee Hyori and Suzy, held advertising contracts for a long time.

According to Salgoonews, Lee Hyori served as the brand ambassador for the beverage brand from 2007 to 2012, while Suzy held the same position for about 5 years. In contrast, Jennie’s contract ended after only 2 years as the brand’s representative.

However, the information in the article is believed to be incorrect. In fact, the sales revenue of the beverage brand during Jennie’s time as the representative did not decline. On the contrary, the BLACKPINK member helped the brand increase its revenue.

In the financial report published in January of this year, the beverage brand was pleased to announce that its business operations exceeded expectations. According to the report, the brand’s revenue from exports in the third quarter of 2022 increased by 14.9% compared to the same period in 2021. The brand also emphasized that Jennie made a significant contribution to their impressive business results.
