Japanese media is abuzz as Koki Kimura (木村心美), the 24-year-old daughter of singer-actor Takuya Kimura and former pop idol Shizuka Kudo, has gone public with her relationship. On November 6, Shūkan Bunshun revealed that Koki is dating professional volleyball player Ogawa Tomohiro (小川智弘).
The couple has reportedly been in a long-distance relationship for the past two years — with Koki living in Tokyo and Ogawa based in Osaka. Despite the distance, the two have maintained a strong bond, spotted shopping together and even sharing a sweet moment as Ogawa gently kissed Koki on the cheek before her departure.
A source close to Koki confirmed the relationship, adding that the couple has grown closer over time through shared interests. Notably, Koki is a known fan of the volleyball anime Haikyuu!!, and was even seen last year wearing a headband supporting Japan’s national men’s volleyball team — Ogawa’s team — at a live match.
In an earlier livestream with her younger sister Kōki Kimura (木村光希), Koki once playfully said that they promised to “find someone more handsome than dad.” This remark resurfaced when the relationship was announced.
When asked by reporters if he considered himself more handsome than Takuya Kimura, Ogawa laughed and replied, “I’m not sure about that — but our relationship is going really well.”
Koki currently works as a flutist and model, while Ogawa has earned national accolades in the VNL (Volleyball Nations League), securing both silver and bronze medals in consecutive years.
