On September 22, a topic titled “KISS OF LIFE overestimated themselves” was published on the Korean forum Pann Nate, immediately becoming a hot topic with over 140,000 views.
The author of the topic attached various images of the seat chart for the Korean concert of 4th gen girl group KISS OF LIFE, showing that the tickets barely sell, as most seats are still available despite the approaching concert date.
“It seems that they overestimated themselves with mediaplay and talks about their international tour selling out, but their domestic concerts are barely selling”, the author also wrote, adding, “They seem to have booked big venues after the popularity of ‘Sticky’, but it was not enough and I don’t think they manage to even fill half of the seats”.
Netizens seem to agree with the author, stating that KISS OF LIFE may have been too hasty to pick the large venues.
Below are some comments from netizens:
- They don’t even have enough songs, and should have waited until they’ve established themselves a bit more. The big concert halls are a bit too hasty of them
- They depend too much on the promotion, thinking that they will be able to sell tickets just by promoting a lot. I get that they are trying to earn money quick, but building a fanbase for concert isn’t a one-day task
- They picked a venue too small last time and immediately tried to go big with Olympic Hall, it just feel too rushed. In addition, their fandom isn’t that large yet and their tickets are more expensive compared to other artists of the same caliber
- The 1st week sales of them clearly prove that they are not at the level of big concert venues yet
- Did their agency not do any research?? It’s important to grow the core fandom stably instead of rushing
