Actor Kim Woo Bin recently opened up about filming a special kiss scene with co-star Suzy in their Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish.
In a video titled “Kim Woo Bin & Suzy React to Their Kiss Scene Highlights” posted on Netflix’s official channel on October 6, the two stars reflected on one of the show’s most talked-about moments.
Kim Woo Bin shared candidly, “It was a very bold scene. [My character] Jinny was quite shocked. We really tried hard to make it work well.” He continued with a smile, “It was that moment where emotions were just about to spark and then Ga Young made the move, so I just thought, ‘Whatever, let’s go for it.’”
Suzy agreed, calling it “a very fresh and unexpected kiss scene,” adding that because it was their characters’ first kiss, there was a lack of traditional romantic buildup. “There wasn’t any typical excitement about the kiss. It was more like, ‘This is how it’s supposed to be, right?’ we just followed the character’s mindset,” she said. “It turned out really pretty.”
Genie, Make a Wish is a fantasy romantic comedy about a career-interrupted genie named Jinny (played by Kim Woo Bin) who awakens after a thousand years and encounters Ga Young (played by Suzy), a woman who’s emotionally detached. Together, they navigate three life-changing wishes that lead to unpredictable consequences and sparks of romance.
The series has drawn attention not only for its magical premise but also for the on-screen chemistry between its leads, making their unconventional kiss scene a fan-favorite moment.
