According to legal sources on June 10, the 14th Civil Division of Suwon District Court will hold the third hearing in a damages lawsuit filed by health supplement company FromBIO against Kim Soo Hyun and his agency, Gold Medalist. The lawsuit seeks compensation worth approximately ₩3.96 billion.

The case will resume roughly eight months after its second hearing, which took place in October of last year.

In particular, this hearing marks the first legal proceeding since CEO Kim Se Ui (CEO Kim) was taken into custody, raising questions over whether Kim Soo Hyun’s side could gain momentum in the ongoing legal battle. Beyond FromBIO, Kim Soo Hyun is currently facing compensation claims reportedly totaling around ₩10 billion from several brands, including Cuckoo Electronics, Trendmaker, and Eider.

Previously, on June 4, CEO Kim was reportedly detained and referred to prosecutors on charges including defamation through false information under the Information and Communications Network Act, stalking violations, sexual crime-related offenses, attempted coercion, and threats.

Police investigations alleged that CEO Kim distributed fabricated voice recordings and manipulated KakaoTalk conversations through a personal broadcast channel last year, claiming that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the late Kim Sae Ron while she was still a minor and that pressure over debt repayment from Kim Soo Hyun’s side contributed to her death. Authorities also reportedly included allegations involving the use of AI technology to manipulate audio recordings.

In response, Gold Medalist released an official statement on June 5, saying, “We sincerely thank those who continued to speak up on behalf of Kim Soo Hyun while patiently waiting for legal procedures.”

Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team is also expected to intensify its response. The actor’s side reportedly increased its damages claim against CEO Kim from ₩12 billion to ₩30 billion, signaling plans for stronger legal action moving forward.
