On November 12, Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative, lawyer Go Sang-rok of the law firm Phil, released a statement asserting, “The thousands of photos do not exist. Since they cannot exist, it is naturally impossible.”
Kim Soo-hyun’s team also addressed claims about images allegedly from Kim Sae-ron’s minor years circulated by the controversial online group Garo Sero Research Institute. According to them, Kim Sae-ron’s family lawyer, Bu Ji-seok, clarified that Garo Sero never stated the photos were from the late actress’s minor years.

Regarding photos showing Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron in close proximity, his side stated that these images were publicly released before the family officially appointed a legal representative, and therefore no comment could be made. Kim Soo-hyun’s team also emphasized that while the family may have mistakenly believed some photos were from her high school years, the actress had actually taken them in her sophomore year of college.
Additionally, Kim Soo-hyun’s team rejected claims about certain 2016 and 2018 KakaoTalk messages allegedly sent by him, calling them “baseless” and noting there was no evidence linking him to the messages. They also denied the existence of any undisclosed letters beyond those made public from his military service, explaining that personal emails from a serving soldier would not be sent externally.
Statements allegedly written by Kim Sae-ron in 2017 were also dismissed, as they did not specify recipients and could refer to unrelated events such as study abroad or training. Kim Soo-hyun’s team stressed that these writings “hold no evidential value” in supporting claims against him.
Regarding the family’s claim that Kim Sae-ron attempted self-harm on January 8, Kim Soo-hyun’s side noted that she was undergoing marriage registration in the U.S. at the time. They further clarified that the family never asserted that Kim Soo-hyun caused her distress leading to her death.
On other matters, Kim Soo-hyun’s team stated that invitations for a January 2022 party titled “Prepare only your body + alcohol” were personally distributed by Kim Sae-ron, and there was no verified evidence that others created the invites on her behalf.

They also explained that Kim Sae-ron traveled to Europe for a planned trip in September 2017 without informing her agency, and reports of her attending gatherings with acquaintances were not unusual.
Kim Soo-hyun’s side addressed a separate issue from March 2024 regarding photos and a “light-delete incident,” noting that the agency resolved a 70 million KRW debt to Kim Sae-ron without expectation of repayment. They claimed that false statements and fabricated letters allegedly authored by the late actress were publicly disclosed by Gaseyeon, despite having no authenticity.
Finally, Kim Soo-hyun’s team criticized Garo Sero’s continued statements labeling him as “the actor responsible for Kim Sae-ron’s death,” emphasizing that these claims do not reflect the position of the actress’s family.
