Actor Kim Soo Hyun has issued a stern warning through his legal representative. On November 10, attorney Go Sang-rok posted on his channel, stating that lawyer Bu Ji-seok, representing the family of the late Kim Sae Ron, recently agreed to an interview with a major public broadcasting network’s investigative program.

While Go welcomed the interview from the bereaved family’s legal team, he also raised a red flag about suspicious activities. He claimed, “There are individuals, seemingly in contact with a known close associate of the late Kim Sae Ron, who are spreading claims that the family is now handing over previously undisclosed materials to their legal representative.” According to Go, “These actions strongly suggest a high risk of a repeat offense similar to the past incident where manipulated evidence caused significant damage to actor Kim Soo Hyun.”

Go continued, “For months, the bereaved family and their attorney refused to cooperate with police investigations. They even delayed receiving the civil complaint filed in March until July and failed to submit a defense within the legal deadline.” Given this background, Go questioned the credibility of the family’s sudden disclosure of “new evidence that could reverse the situation.” He emphasized, “Any further distribution of manipulated data or invasion of privacy will be considered grounds for immediate arrest.”

Currently, Kim Soo Hyun has halted all professional activities due to suspicions involving his past relationship with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. The damage has already been monumental, with breach-of-contract penalties from advertisers reportedly exceeding 20 billion KRW (approx. $15 million).

Previously, the bereaved family made headlines by releasing an alleged audio recording of Kim Sae Ron. In it, she reportedly said, “I started dating Kim Soo Hyun in middle school. The first time we had intercourse was during winter break in second year. Looking back, I believe it was non-consensual.”

Kim Soo Hyun’s side responded with a press conference, labeling the KakaoTalk messages submitted by the family as fabricated evidence. The actor has since filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family and YouTuber Kim Se-ui, accusing them of violating the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation, and seeking 12 billion KRW (approx. $9 million) in damages.
