The JTBC sports variety show Let’s Play Soccer 4 delivered both determination and heartbreak ahead of its August 24 episode.

As the lowest-ranked team Ssak3 UTD prepared to break free from their losing streak, the players endured a grueling dawn training session in the rain. Under the guidance of coach Kim Nam-il, who even purchased training uniforms with his own money to encourage the team, spirits were high.

However, the mood turned somber with the announcement that Kim Soo-gyeom, the team’s first draft pick, would be stepping down due to a recurrence of a chronic illness.

Born in 2001, Kim Soo-gyeom is a promising young actor under Gold Medalist, the agency led by star actor Kim Soo-hyun. His sudden departure from the show left teammates stunned, as his presence had been pivotal to the team’s spirit.

To fill the gap, model Lee Ho-yeon, who previously appeared as a substitute for FC Fantasy Star and FC Papa Claus, officially joined Ssak3 UTD. His addition is expected to bring new energy to the team as they face the powerful Lion Hearts FC.

The setbacks didn’t stop there—goalkeeper No Ji-hoon also had to withdraw following an injury in the previous match. His position will be taken over by model Lee Ji-han, known in the fashion world as the “David de Gea of modeling.”

Despite these challenges, anticipation is high to see whether the revamped Ssak3 UTD can rise against the odds.

Viewers can catch the emotional and competitive showdown on Let’s Play Soccer 4, airing Sunday, August 24, at 7:10 p.m. KST on JTBC.
