Kim So Yeon and Lee Dong Wook’s “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” hits highest viewership rating from the 1st episode

tvN’s drama “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” showed the first signal of success with high viewership rating since the first episode. 

According to Nielsen Korea, a viewership rating research company, on May 7th, the first broadcast of “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 6.5%.

This number already surpassed the highest viewership rating of the 1st installment “Tale of the Nine Tailed”, which peaked at 5.8%, signaling a fresh start.

In the newly started “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”, the story of the nine-tailed fox, Lee Dong Wook, who travels through time and gets trapped in the Japanese colonial era, is unveiled.

In “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”, Lee Dong Wook takes on the role of Lee Yeon, who works under the Afterlife Immigration Office agent Taluipa (played by Kim Jung Nan), to reincarnate his deceased brother and punishes the demons that cause chaos in the living world.

On this day, Lee Yeon (played by Lee Dong Wook), who was living with his loving wife in the present, traveled back in time to 1938 and met his still-living brother, Lee Rang (played by Kim Bum).

After reuniting with Lee Rang, who is living as the leader of a gang of thieves, Lee Yeon teams up with him in a crisis and succeeds in defeating “Dongbangsak” (played by Younghoon). However, the gate to the present time was closed, causing Lee Yeon to become trapped in the past.
