Kim Min Jae shyly talks about his kiss scene with Kim Hyang Gi, “I think that level was high…”

Actor Kim Min Jae poured out compliments for his senior actress Kim Hyang Gi, his co-star in “Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2”.

On the afternoon of February 10th, Kim Min Jae had an interview with Wikitree about his recent drama tvN’s “Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2” at a cafe in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Regarding Kim Hyang Gi, who is younger than him but has more acting experience, Kim Min Jae exclaimed, “She’s a great senior. I asked her many questions during the filming, such as ‘Should I do this?’, ‘How can I act like that?’, ‘How did you do that?’, etc.”

He continued, “We worked together and had many emotional scenes. There were times when I was surprised by her acting. I asked her about lots of things.”

Kim Min Jae, who portrayed a deep melodramatic story with Kim Hyang Gi, revealed that he was very worried about the drama’s background set in the Joseon Dynasty. Regarding the kiss scene, he confessed, “My biggest concern was the hat I wore. I had to reckon the angle for the scene. I also wondered, ‘How did people of that era date?’.”

Recalling the atmosphere on the set, the actor smiled shyly and said, “It went very smoothly without NG”.

When asked about his thoughts on the affectionate scene in the last episode, Kim Min Jae explained, “Since the drama is set in the Joseon Dynasty, I believed that holding hands and kissing were already high-level scenes”, adding “I tried to portray it as fresh and beautiful as possible”.

tvN’s “Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist 2” tells about Yoo Se Poong (Kim Min Jae), a genius physician who cannot sleep due to nightmares, meeting Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi), a widow in the mysterious and beautiful Gyesu Village, and eccentric teacher Gye Ji Han (Kim Sang Kyung) then being reborn as a true doctor. The drama ended on February 9th.
