According to Star News on January 7, Kim Junsu participated as a studio guest in the recording of SBS’s popular variety program My Little Old Boy, with the episode scheduled to air on January 18.

Kim Junsu is currently starring in the musical Beetlejuice, which opened on December 16, 2025, and he is expected to share stories from his daily life along with his trademark witty and relaxed talk on the show. His appearance is drawing particular attention as it marks his first time appearing on an SBS entertainment program since his contract dispute with former agency SM Entertainment nearly two decades ago.

After debuting in 2003 as a member of TVXQ, Kim Junsu filed for an injunction to suspend his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in 2009, leading to a prolonged legal battle. Following his departure from the group, he re-debuted in 2010 as part of JYJ and began building a successful career as a musical actor. Despite his popularity, appearances on terrestrial variety shows remained largely out of reach for many years.

That barrier has gradually disappeared. In 2024, Kim Junsu appeared on KBS 2TV’s The Return of Superman and MBC’s Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island. With his upcoming appearance on My Little Old Boy, he has now completed appearances across KBS, MBC, and SBS variety programs, effectively dismantling the long-standing wall that once kept him off terrestrial entertainment shows.
