On the January 29 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Problem Child in House”, the show celebrated its 300th episode with a special guest appearance from Jun Hyun Moo. The host, who returned to KBS 13 years after leaving to go freelance and who won the KBS Entertainment Grand Prize last year had some personal questions for newlywed Kim Jong Kook.
“I’m nearly 50 and feeling a bit confused,” Jun Hyun Moo said. “So I’ve been meaning to ask you something. You’re just a year older than me. Were you always planning to get married eventually, or did you meet someone so good that it changed your mind?”
To this, Kim Jong Kook replied, “I always thought I would get married someday. But I also had this ideal image of how I wanted marriage to happen.”
Kim Sook followed up by asking, “Did she just appear in your life at the right time?” Kim Jong Kook explained that they had already known each other before they began dating.
Jun Hyun Moo asked directly, “Was she a female friend who suddenly started to look different to you?”
Kim Jong Kook admitted, “She was like a younger sister to me. But one day, I suddenly thought, ‘If I married this person, I’d be truly happy.’”
Kim Jong Kook tied the knot with a non-celebrity in September of last year. Because he never publicly disclosed his wife’s identity, rumors swirled some speculating that she was an LA-based entrepreneur or even the daughter of a famous English-language instructor.
The wedding was dubbed a “top secret ceremony” due to how private it was. Only a few celebrities, including MC Yoo Jae Suk who hosted the event, were reportedly invited. The guest list was tightly limited to around 100 people 50 from each side.
