Singer Kim Jong Kook, who tied the knot in a private ceremony on September 5, has finally opened up about his newlywed life and his younger wife. His candid revelations came during the September 25 broadcast of KBS2’s Problem Child in House 2, where S.E.S. Eugene appeared as a guest.
The episode reunited Eugene with Kim Jong Kook, her longtime colleague from the ’90s music scene. “Turbo was my idol back then. Jong Kook was always quiet and charismatic,” Eugene fondly recalled. She also congratulated the singer on his marriage, sharing her own experience: “During our first six months of marriage, my husband and I fought a lot. Eventually, we learned that trying to change each other was the problem.”
Kim Jong Kook responded by revealing his philosophy on love: “I don’t interfere at all. The best thing is letting her do what makes her happy.”
When asked about household routines, the star couldn’t help but gush: “I find my wife’s back really pretty when she does the dishes. I was just watching her, but she thought I was checking whether the water pressure was too strong. I just wanted to look at her.”
Even on lifestyle habits, he praised her thoughtfulness: “She reuses wet tissues on her own because she knows I’m conscious of such things. I never told her to; she just did it out of consideration.”
Regarding air conditioning, he explained that he leaves the control entirely to his wife: “I don’t touch it at all. She uses it reasonably, and I respect that.”
Fans were also curious about her appearance. Although not into fitness like Kim Jong Kook, she has an enviable physique. Comedian Yang Se Chan described her as “slim with straight shoulders, almost like she works out. She’s tall, too.”
Kim Jong Kook admitted that exercise had once caused minor disagreements before marriage, but the couple now respects each other’s space. “That was the only conflict we had. Now, it’s all about no-touch and balance,” he said.
