On December 25, Song Ji Hyo‘s YouTube channel posted a video titled “Christmas Party ft. Kim Jong Kook, Yang Se Chan, Ji Ye Eun,” featuring the Running Man members gathered for a relaxed conversation.
Kim Jong Kook opened up, saying, “We’ve been on Running Man for 16 years, so I thought we knew almost everything about each other… but the fact that she dated someone for 8 years without us noticing is even more shocking.” He expressed disappointment at learning only recently that Song Ji Hyo had a boyfriend for such a long time.
Yang Se Chan also voiced his surprise, joking, “Didn’t she have a boyfriend from the very beginning of Running Man?” Kim Jong Kook added, “She talks so openly about our lives, yet her own love life was completely hidden,” showing his playful frustration. Song Ji Hyo calmly responded, “It’s not that it didn’t happen, I just didn’t talk about it.”
Despite spending 16 years together, the members were still shocked to discover her 8-year relationship. Song Ji Hyo’s dating style added another layer of surprise for the cast. When asked how she spent Christmas with her partner, she admitted, “Honestly, I barely celebrate Christmas. That week is usually filled with filming and events, so it’s the busiest time for people in our profession,” adding that romantic dates or fancy venues were rare.
Kim Jong Kook commented, “Most men stress over event seasons, but dating her for 8 years must have been really comfortable,” while Yang Se Chan humorously noted, “She doesn’t care about wine or whiskey just soju is enough. Instead of expensive steak, a simple sundae soup with soju works perfectly. That’s probably why their 8-year relationship lasted,” bringing laughter to the gathering.
