Kim Jong-kook Revealed Condition For New “Running Man” Member, “Has Good Personality, Idol Is OK”

On the afternoon of February 1st, a video was uploaded on Kim Jong-kook’s YouTube channel “GYM JONG KOOK” with the title, “Ask the production team about the new member of Running Man…” (Feat. Running Man PD, Choi Bo-pil).

In this video, Kim Jong-kook asked, “Who do you think is a good person when you are looking for a new member for Running Man?” to which a producer replied, “A bright person.” To this, Kim Jong-kook made people laugh by saying, “You have to be bright first if you want someone who is bright.”

SBS’s flagship entertainment program “Running Man” underwent major changes last year. Jeon So-min announced her departure after six years on the show, and the original member Big Nose Ji Seok-jin also temporarily dropped out due to health problems.

Fortunately, Ji Seok-jin recently returned to “Running Man” with good health for the New Year, but Jeon So-min’s vacancy still remains, so the production team is thinking about recruiting a new member.

Kim Jong-kook said, “I think renting a member is not bad. Because it’s hard if we’re too organized.” The main producer said, “I think idols are good, too. Age doesn’t matter if you can blend in well with the members. The new member can make them all appear younger,” and Kim Jong-kook agreed, saying, “That’s right. Seok-jin can experience a young life.”

Most of all, Kim Jong-kook said, “The cast takes personality seriously. The team has had no incidents even if we have been together for a long time. We tend to look at morality and things like that.”
