On September 25th, a video featuring Kim Jong-kook on the podcast “We care about your privacy” was released on the YouTube channel “VivoTV”.
Kim Sook revealed that Kim Jong-kook, who rarely appears on other YouTube channels, had rushed over after receiving a call from Song Eun-i. The three became acquainted through the KBS2 show “Problem Child in House”
Demonstrating his loyalty, Kim Jong-kook said, “When I got Eun-i’s call, I didn’t hesitate to come, especially knowing Sook would be here too.” Song Eun-i and Kim Sook expressed their gratitude, saying, “We didn’t expect you to adjust your schedule so quickly,” and “We thought we’d see you around year-end, but you came much earlier.” Kim Jong-kook explained, “I’m heading to the US next week for about two weeks, so I wanted to come before that.”
The purpose of his US trip was for a performance. When Kim Sook brought up the rumor about Kim Jong-kook having a wife and child in the US, Song Eun-i jokingly added, “He has around a thousand girlfriends and a hundred wives.” Song Eun-i and Kim Sook praised him as top husband material, to which Kim Jong-kook admitted, “I’m a pretty decent husband when married.”
When Song Eun-i inquired if he was dating anyone recently, Kim Jong-kook playfully responded, “My daughter has entered university. UCLA.”
He continued the joke, saying, “I also have a son. They’re both in LA. My daughter is attending UCLA. The rumors are quite detailed. She’s graduating this year.” This revelation brought laughter to the studio.
Song Eun-i reflected, “This conversation shows how easily unfounded rumors can arise.” Kim Sook added, “Jong-kook is so intimidating that rumors don’t spread easily. People probably think they’ll face dire consequences if Jong-kook catches them spreading rumors, so they tend to keep quiet.”
Kim Jong-kook explained the origin of the rumor: “Because I’ve been traveling to the US with my mother frequently, Cha Tae-hyun started the first rumor. He joked that the reason I keep going to the US is to see my wife and daughter. He even said I’m going to see my granddaughter. Some older people who watch fake news on YouTube actually believe it’s true.”
