Speaking late on September 10 via phone with Star News, Kim Gap Jin addressed reports about his career and his long-standing relationship with Kim Jong Kook. Earlier that day, TenAsia reported that Kim Jong Kook had parted ways with his longtime manager, ending an 18-year journey together. Since 2008, Kim Gap Jin had managed Kim Jong Kook, even appearing on variety shows like SBS’s Family Outing and My Little Old Boy, gaining popularity as a “celebrity manager.”

It was also confirmed that Kim Gap Jin briefly joined K-Tigers Entertainment as a division head earlier this year but left after about 15 days. He clarified, “Yes, I went independent. I joined K-Tigers but left shortly after. I’m currently producing Rainbow18 separately,” speaking cautiously.

Meanwhile, Kim Jong Kook officially announced on September 10 that he had signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, home to G-Dragon and, most recently, actor Song Kang Ho. The singer moved with his on-site manager and is now preparing his 30th-anniversary album and concert under the new label. Just days before, on September 5, he held a private wedding ceremony with his non-celebrity partner, attended only by family and close friends, with Yoo Jae Suk officiating.
On Kim Jong Kook’s move, Kim Gap Jin admitted: “I’m still involved with his work as an agent, but since he’s overseas right now, we haven’t had a detailed discussion. I actually found out about his Galaxy Corporation signing through the news. We’ll need to talk about the direction moving forward.”
When contacted, a representative from Galaxy Corporation briefly responded to Kim Gap Jin’s remarks, saying, “We will check on this.”
