Singer Kim Jong-kook surprised viewers when he openly confessed that he “hardly dated before getting married” during the December 4 broadcast of KBS2’s Problem Child in House.
Actors Yoo Sun and Oh Min-seok appeared as guests in episode 293, where Oh Min-seok shared his shock upon reuniting with Kim Jong-kook after four years especially after hearing news of his sudden marriage.
Oh Min-seok recalled, “I was really shocked when I heard hyung got married. After filming, he always worked out, and before filming, he worked out again. It was either the gym or soccer with the guys. I couldn’t even imagine him with a woman. If he got married, he must’ve dated… and I couldn’t figure out when that even happened.”
In response, Kim Jong-kook gave a candid and unexpected confession: “I didn’t date. I barely dated at all. Honestly… after getting married is when I started dating.”
The remark drew laughter on set while also highlighting his famously disciplined lifestyle, where training and exercise often took priority over romance.
Kim Jong-kook married a non-celebrity woman on September 5. Recently, he signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation, home to creators and actors including aespa’s virtual artist Naevis and various AI-based entertainment projects.
